   Ministry Name:  Youth Group

    Role/Purpose of Ministry:  To allow the Spirit to move among us so teens and adults
    teens and adults can grow closer to Jesus and each other.  To provide service to our
    parish community and others as Jesus tells us in Scripture.

   History of Ministry:  The youth group began under Fr. Ed Cronin in the early '80's. 
    The group met   biweekly and had several service opportunities and social trips
    yearly.  When Fr. Ed left, Deacon Tim took over the leadership role, followed by
    Fr. Joe Allen, who expanded teen and adult involvement.

   Current and Future Events:  Softball team mid-June - early August. Any interested
   teen can join.  Canoe/camping trip was held July 8-9.  From July 17-21 we traveled
   daily to the Port ministry in Chicago to provide lunch to children who would have
   had none.

    Meeting Time and Day:  Sunday evenings 6-9 p.m. unless on an outing or on a
    service project.
